About the Role

The Shuttle Driver is responsible for transporting guests to and/or from the hotel, hospital, or casino and local area in a friendly, efficient, and courteous manner using safe driving practices. They are also responsible for assisting guests with luggage, including delivery and pick-up of guest luggage during arrival and departure, and maintaining vehicle activity and maintenance logs.

Responsibilities

  • Shuttles guests to approved destinations as directed by manager and client contact. Must learn and remember pick-up and destination points, property outlets, meeting rooms, amenities, local attractions, parking rates, etc. (40% of time)
  • Communicates courteously and professionally with guests, location staff, and co-workers via telephone, two-way radio, and in person. Acknowledges and greets guests within 30 seconds, uses guest last names when appropriate, and maintains composure under pressure. (20% of time)
  • Operates vehicles seating eight people or fewer, including driver. Inspects vehicle at the start of each shift for operational safety (lights, signals, tires, damage, etc.) and records malfunctions or damage for manager review. (20% of time)
  • Protects guest confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA requirements. Maintains security of client financial and identifying information. Assists patrons with entering and exiting the vehicle, checks wheelchairs for safe operation, and cleans wheelchairs after each use. May use specialized equipment such as wheelchair lifts. (20% of time)

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Must pass criminal background check, MVR, and drug screen
  • Must be at least 21 years of age due to vehicle leasing contract requirements
  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license at all times
  • Must pass annual/semiannual MVR check
  • Must complete Wheelchair Safety Training course provided by Towne Park, if applicable
  • One to three months of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience

Skills

  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend standard English
  • Ability to follow simple instructions, correspondence, and memos
  • Ability to write simple correspondence
  • Ability to present information effectively in one-on-one and small group settings
  • Basic arithmetic skills, including operations with American currency
  • Understanding of 24-hour and military time systems
  • Ability to understand time-based rates
  • Ability to drive manual transmission

Pay

Hourly base pay range for this position is $15.00 per hour. Actual compensation will be based on a candidate’s job-related skills, experience, education or training, and location.

  • Frequently required to sit or stand for extended periods; may need to run, walk, handle objects, reach, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
  • Lifting requirements: up to 100 pounds occasionally, up to 50 pounds frequently, and up to 20 pounds constantly
  • Majority of work performed outdoors for extended periods, including entire shifts, with exposure to extreme heat and cold
  • Travel of up to 5% may be required
