Shuttle Driver

About the role
Responsible for operating a shuttle bus and/or passenger coach-type vehicle. Reports to the Supervisor of Transportation (or a designated individual in the Supervisor's absence). This position does not require patient care.
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, courteous, and professional service to passengers while en route to/from destinations.
- Follow established routes and departure times.
- Communicate with dispatch for guidance on any detours or delays.
- Operate vehicles in accordance with Mass General Brigham Fleet Safety Program Policies and Procedures, as well as applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
- Ensure adherence to passenger limits for both seated and standing passengers.
- Assist passengers with disabilities and others needing assistance in boarding and disembarking from the vehicle via the wheelchair lift.
- Report any emergencies or concerns with the vehicle and/or passengers immediately to the Supervisor and/or Dispatcher.
- Safely transport passengers to various destinations while adhering to traffic laws and company policies.
- Adhere to assignments in accordance with scheduled shuttle routes prepared by the Manager, Supervisor, and/or Dispatcher.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred (experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree).
- Proven experience as a shuttle bus driver (1-2 years required).
- Excellent driving skills for shuttle buses and coach-type vehicles with the ability to navigate various road and weather conditions safely.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping and documentation.
- Great improvisational skills.
- Knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance procedures.
- Excellent customer service skills.

Pay
