Shoulder and Elbow Orthopaedic Surgeon - Tenure track/Rank dependent on qualifications
Faculty position as an Orthopaedic Shoulder/Elbow Surgeon in the tenure track at the University of Utah School of Medicine. Rank will be determined based on qualifications.
About the role
The primary focus of the practice will be management of complex shoulder and elbow disorders, including arthroplasty, advanced arthroscopic techniques, and salvage reconstructive shoulder and elbow procedures. The incumbent will join the shoulder and elbow division alongside three other surgeons within an outstanding academic orthopaedic department.
Responsibilities
- Develop and mentor focused clinical, research, and educational programs in musculoskeletal disorders
- Publish in peer-reviewed journals and present at national meetings
- Participate in training the shoulder and elbow fellow in clinic and operating room settings
- Train orthopedic surgery residents
Requirements
- Completion of a residency in orthopaedic surgery
- One-year advanced fellowship training in shoulder and elbow surgery, or equivalent
- Board certification or board eligibility in orthopaedic surgery
- Demonstrated excellence in clinical care, education, and clinical/basic science research
- Exceptional academic interest and track record in orthopaedics
Qualifications
- Interest and experience in shoulder biomechanics and/or clinical outcomes research (preferred)
- Sincere desire to mentor others
