Empower Rental Group is seeking a self-motivated Shop Mechanic for our Aledo, TX location. You will work out of our Nashville branch, making critical shop decisions and serving as a vital link to our customers to ensure their equipment runs flawlessly. Responsibilities
- Perform complex diagnostics and emergency repairs on heavy equipment, including powertrain, hydraulic, and electrical systems using computer analyzers and traditional troubleshooting methods.
- Complete repairs on rental equipment, company vehicles, and small fleet units.
- Prepare rental equipment for delivery, including modifications, repairs, and cleaning before and after customer use.
- Execute scheduled preventative maintenance (PMs) and routine inspections, such as changing filters, checking fluids, and filling tires.
- Utilize a company-provided laptop or tablet to manage work orders, look up parts, and document repairs and services.
- Communicate professionally with customers, providing updates, explaining repairs, and training them on proper equipment use.
- Assist customers with loading/unloading fleet orders and address customer service inquiries.
- Support the shop team with complex repairs, mentor other technicians, and assist with tasks like lifting or moving heavy objects.
- Drive continuous improvement in quality and efficiency while maintaining a safe work environment.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Over 5 years of hands-on experience diagnosing and repairing heavy construction and/or aerial lift equipment; experience with major brands is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to drive company vehicles (required on a case-by-case basis).
- Excellent customer service skills for both internal and external customers.
- Self-starter capable of working effectively with minimal supervision in a dynamic environment.
- Proficiency with diesel engines, diagnostics, powertrain, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
- Comfortable using modern diagnostic tools and mobile technology for work orders and documentation.
- Must own a set of basic and comprehensive mechanical tools.
