Shop Foreman

Amerit Fleet Solutions is one of the leading fleet maintenance companies in the U.S., seeking an experienced Shop Foreman to join our growing team in Forest Park, GA. This role assists the Fleet Manager in leading service technicians and overseeing the fleet’s preventative maintenance and repair program. Primarily computer and coordination-focused with limited hands-on mechanical work, ensuring heavy-duty diesel vehicles, trailers, and field equipment remain safe, reliable, and efficient.

Pay

$36.00 - $40.00/hour (based on experience), paid weekly every Friday.

Schedule

Monday - Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM (Day-Shift).

Responsibilities

• 80% managerial, 20% diesel technician work
• Lead and develop a team of up to 10+ full-time employees
• Oversee maintenance for heavy-duty trailers, dollies, and switchers
• Perform services on anti-lock brakes, wheel end components, electrical systems, brakes, minor body work, and roll-up doors
• Monitor employee performance and maintain accessibility across the shop
• Plan daily manpower to meet workload demands
• Support operations team on equipment-related issues
• Handle administrative tasks: payroll approval, scanner downloads, repair order maintenance, and compliance documentation
• Maintain clean, safe working conditions for the facility and equipment
• Communicate with fleet maintenance manager to align with operational and company needs
• Identify and monitor equipment sent to outside sources for repairs
• Conduct pre-shift meetings
• Comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies
• Access any area of equipment or vehicles to perform necessary maintenance
• Move parts to and from job sites, and install/remove parts on vehicles
• Perform other duties as required

Requirements

• 5+ years of industry experience in fleet maintenance management or operations within the auto/diesel industry
• 2-5 years of experience as a Lead/Manager in the diesel industry
• Prior technician/mechanic experience required
• Familiarity with heavy truck/trailer repair and maintenance
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Basic written and verbal communication skills for documentation and collaboration
• Thorough knowledge of tractor and trailer maintenance, DOT rules and regulations, and company policies
• Proven leadership and interpersonal skills
• Strong multitasking and computer skills

Working Conditions

This role operates in a mobile, outside, and/or shop environment with exposure to:

• Dust, diesel fumes, and noise
• Chemicals, oils, greases, and other mechanical materials
• Heavy traffic areas

Essential job functions include:

• Frequent standing, walking, climbing, bending, and sitting for extended periods
• Lifting heavy objects and accessing tight or confined spaces
• Regular use of hands to grasp, reach, handle, and operate tools and equipment
• Working at heights using ladders or elevated platforms
