Shipping Specialist

Essential Responsibilities

• Operates a forklift to load and unload materials.
• Completes all required documentation on inbound and outbound documents.
• Manages dock door usage.
• Handles all products according to customer and employer procedures.
• Communicates changes in extraordinary handling procedures to office personnel.
• Completes warehouse worksheet.
• Complies with all other procedures outlined in the Operations & Procedure Manual.
• Determines priority of inbound Receipts based on order demand, trailer needs and detention.
• Sets inbound/outbound workloads for all shifts.
• Performs problem-solving analysis on supply chain and inventory issues.
• Communicates effectively with Transportation, OFR, Management, Co-workers, and Customers.
• Presents verbal and written communications in a clear, concise manner.
• Researches and resolves discrepancies (inventories, orders, inbounds).
• Verifies and reconciles inventory.
• Maintains shipment times to deliver within specified time frame.
• Monitors spreadsheets and reports that are sent to management and clients on a daily/weekly basis.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• A high school or GED diploma is preferred.
• Previous experience with operational equipment (narrow aisle reach trucks, counter-balance forklifts, RF scanners and WMS) is preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools is preferred.
• Ability to follow directions, work well in teams, and have strong attention to detail.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Accurately count and perform basic math functions.

Physical & Mental Requirements

• Continuous sitting, typing, and performing repetitive wrist motions.
• Occasional standing, walking, bending, squatting/kneeling, twisting/turning, or reaching lifting up to 35 pounds throughout the shift.
• Focus to see close and distant, along with depth perception capabilities.
• Moderate overtime and occasional weekend work.
• Spend 70 – 80% of time on the warehouse floor in a fast-paced environment.
