Responsibilities
- Signs in truck drivers and directs them to dock doors based on scheduled appointments
- Reviews shipping logistics menu for any orders to be shipped and prints pick-packs
- Routes and schedules all shipments from branches with Brokers/3PL or any customer routing portals/guides
- Uses truck management system (TMC) to build and schedule loads that are not customer pick-up
- Reviews and Utilizes dock manager to schedule all inbound/outbound ST/OTs
- Effectively communicates between the plants and the DC along with the Manager for any inventory issues (shortages/damage)
- Ship confirms all shipped loads at the end of the day
- Communicates with CSR of any loads that did not ship and require date changes
- Identify and report safety concerns through near misses and observations
- Always strive for zero waste, zero litter, and involvement in the recycling program
- Responsible for the quality of all processes and products that you encounter
- Be knowledgeable and fulfill all customer requirements
- Identify and report all quality concerns through to any supervisor or quality technician
- Be actively engaged in safety and quality programs
- Responsible for developing a safe and friendly work environment
Qualifications
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with co-workers
- Moderate organizational skills including the ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously
- Ability to read Standard English text for requirements on pack list
- Communicate with persons of various social, cultural, economic and educational backgrounds
- Perform effectively in environments with frequent workload changes and competing demands
- Able to use simple math to add, subtract, multiply, and divide to determine material calculations
- Make appropriate job decisions following standard policies and past precedents
- Vocal communication adequate to use a radio and or paging system to contact other co-workers in other areas of the complex
- Recognize an emergency situation and take appropriate action
- Able to stand and walk for minimum of 7 hours during an 8 hour shift
- Hearing sufficient to recognize and respond to shouted warnings, alarms, and horns on fork-lifts
- Proficient skill in JDE
- Able to frequently lift, push, and pull loads of no more than 35 lbs. without the use of an assisting device
- Able to safely operate a fork-lift in high traffic, low clearance areas while not posing a safety risk to others
- Able to climb ladders and steps safely without assistance
- Must not be at risk of sudden alterations in consciousness
