What We're Looking For

We are looking for a self-motivated Shipping & Receiving Coordinator who takes pride in accuracy, organization, ownership, and continuous improvement. You'll have the ability to learn quickly through training, work independently in a fast-paced environment, and recognize when something doesn't look right. The right person will take ownership of issues, communicate with the appropriate teams, and continually look for ways to add value beyond their day-to-day responsibilities. Our Shipping & Receiving Coordinator is a critical contributor to keeping materials moving accurately and efficiently throughout our operation. With receiving as a primary focus, this position verifies incoming shipments, identifies discrepancies or damage, maintains accurate inventory records, and ensures materials are routed to the correct location or department. Incoming shipments may range from small packages to full truckloads of raw materials. This role will also cross-train and provide support within shipping and other material handling functions as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Verifies, audits and keeps records on incoming shipments in warehouse management system (WMS) to maintain quality assurance and inventory accuracy
  • Compare identifying information and counts, weighs or measure items of incoming shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, purchase orders or other records
  • Inspects incoming merchandise for damage, defects and/or discrepancies
  • Labels, organizes and transfers incoming inventory in designated locations; routes received goods to appropriate department based on priority and timeline metrics
  • Communicates effectively with purchasing, supply chain, quality and inventory teams regarding any issues as well as outside vendors as needed
  • Operates pallet jacks, forklifts, and material lift trucks to safely move, transport, load/unload, and stage materials between shipping, receiving, storage, and production areas
  • Maintains a safe and clean work environment and provides quality, detailed work while following safety procedures and company policies at all times
  • Maintains a high level of customer service with internal teams and external contacts
  • Assists in inventory accuracy through cycle counts
  • Crosstrain in material handling and other warehouse functions as needed

Skill Set

  • Minimum 1-2 years of receiving experience, preferably in a larger warehouse setting
  • Experience using ERP systems, inventory tracking software, and/or Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) is a plus
  • Ability to safely operate a forklift to unload trucks and move product throughout the building(s) while complying with MIOSHA and all company safety standards
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient computer knowledge in Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel, and the ability to multitask within multiple software systems
  • Ability to identify trends, outliers, discrepancies, and quality concerns through strong attention to detail; investigates discrepancies and troubleshoots issues
  • Collaborates with appropriate internal teams and external partners to ensure inventory accuracy and correct deliveries
  • Knowledge of handheld measuring devices
  • This position requires the ability to perform repetitive motions for extended periods; demonstrate manual dexterity when working with small components; frequently bend, stoop, and stand for long durations; lift, lower, and carry packages typically weighing 25–50 lbs.; handle packages up to 150 lbs. with assistance; load and unload carts with heavy items (e.g., bags of soil or similar products); and push and maneuver carts with a total load of up to 200 lbs. consistently throughout the workday

Schedule

6:00 am – 4:30 pm, Tuesday through Friday with potential for overtime during peak times, including some Saturdays.
