Summary
The Shipping & Receiving Coordinator assists in controlling all receiving activities to ensure products are received, moved, shipped, and stored accurately within the ERP system.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Performs inbound receiving functions in the database and confirms receipt accuracy by following procedures for marking and tagging pallets before inbound stock is put away and processes are carried out.
- Works closely with the purchasing department. Liaison on any inquiries, having the ability to answer calls, track/handle orders in a timely manner.
- Communicates effectively to the inventory team regarding inventory inquiries that may result in lot verifications, damages, as well as missing product that may hinder shipments.
- Maintains attention to detail. Utilizes and processes inbound shipments within the ERP system to validate data.
- Aids in the management of the Quarantine area inventory by working with Product Managers and QA departments.
- Manages the upkeep on Receiving, RMA, and RTV files consistent with company guidelines and audit verifications.
- Cycles counts material in various warehouses and locations for accuracy, posts totals to inventory records, and resolves discrepancies.
- Aids in preparing the warehouse for the year-end physical inventory.
- Collaborates with QA, Customer Service, and Product Management to process customer and vendor returns.
- Solves inventory discrepancies such as lot numbers, quantities, bin locations, etc. as reported by warehouse Material Handlers or other warehouse personnel.
- Backs up for shipping- logging and assigning orders to warehouse personnel.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 1 - 3 years of experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations in a distribution or manufacturing environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
- Familiarity or general aptitude for ERP/Warehouse/Inventory tracking systems is preferred.
Work Conditions & Physical Requirements
- The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- Ability to lift up to 55lbs.
- Work environment is normally in an office setting. Must be able to make frequent rounds in a warehouse environment.
- Ability to view a computer screen and type for extended hours.
- Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to wear any required PPE such as scrubs, hair net, lab coat, and facemask.
- Ability to work in a packaging area with a moderate powder substance in the air with or without a respirator.
- Ability to work above shoulders.
- Other physical requirements include frequent squatting, bending, twisting, and bi-lateral wrist movement.
- Ability to work around a variety of different smells and aromas.
- Ability to adjust work schedule as business needs require.
