About the Role
Ampacity is actively seeking a Shipping & Receiving Coordinator to support inbound and outbound supply chain operations at our Des Moines Distribution Center. This role is responsible for coordinating, scheduling, and distributing products and materials within the Des Moines facility, and owns inventory control functions across both receiving and shipping. The Shipping & Receiving Coordinator will work closely with the Des Moines Warehouse Manager to ensure smooth and efficient operations. The ideal candidate will play a key role in supporting the full order cycle, enhancing the customer experience, and contributing to the sustainability of our logistics and supply chain processes.
Responsibilities
- Respond to customer inquiries and route requests to the appropriate internal teams
- Review purchase orders and shipping documents for accuracy and completeness
- Coordinate special shipping arrangements as needed
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing slips, resolving any discrepancies, damages, or shortages with vendors/carriers
- Track outbound shipments and resolve any shipping errors
- Prepare shipping documents, including fulfillment records and manifests
- Manage inbound and outbound distribution processes, including dock scheduling and inventory processing
- Support same-day deliveries when possible
- Track shipping and receiving metrics (e.g., on-time delivery, accuracy, turnaround times) and report trends or issues to the Warehouse Manager
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or a related field
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, etc.)
- Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) and shipping software
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Associate degree in Business Administration or Supply Chain (preferred)
- Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks effectively
Pay
Hourly rate: $20-24
