About the role

The Mixing Center Shipping/Receiving Clerk is responsible for coordinating all inbound and outbound activities, including gate monitoring, inbound/outbound appointment scheduling, dock assignment, paperwork confirmation, and dispatch of completed orders. Follows standard work and established procedures for warehouse activities.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares Bills of Lading and proper shipping documents to specific customer and company specifications.
  • Ensures associates and outside vendors follow GMP, safety, food safety, and site-specific policies.
  • Monitors the gate and checks in all inbound activity.
  • Confirms valid appointments and completes inbound paperwork.
  • Assigns dock doors to minimize travel for loaders.
  • Reviews outbound paperwork upon completion of outbound load prior to dispatch.
  • Audits inbound/outbound paperwork for completion and accuracy.
  • Communicates and schedules deliveries and shipments to 3rd party warehouses.
  • Partners with internal and external customers to ensure on-time delivery and communicates issues that arise.
  • Assists in scheduling inbound and outbound delivery appointments through information systems, email, and phone.
  • Prioritizes inbound unloading to minimize shortages on orders and achieve fill rate goals.
  • Supports department KPIs.
  • Ensures outbound shipments are properly dispatched on departure and proper filing of paperwork.
  • Responsible for daily filing and storage of paperwork to meet company and external customer policies.
  • Collaborates with Taskers to prioritize work based on changing schedules.
  • Required to seal each truck arriving at the site.
  • May perform other duties as assigned or required.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent; 1 year of related experience as a clerk in a WMS warehouse environment.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills.
  • Must be able to communicate/interact with all levels of associates, customers, carriers, drivers, temporary associates, and visitors in a professional manner.
  • Ability to manage potential conflict situations in a calm and professional manner.
  • Must be competent with WMS; JDA Red Prairie preferred.
