About the Role
This is a third-shift position working 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM EST in a temperature-controlled facility. The role involves material handling, shipping coordination, and inventory management within a lean, safety-focused environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform duties in accordance with safety guidelines and lean principles, complying with all safety procedures and company policies.
- Operate powered industrial vehicles and crane systems to move materials.
- Ensure materials are labeled, packaged, and shipped according to work instructions and guidelines.
- Prepare export documents, bills of lading, packing lists, and other shipping forms.
- Apply knowledge of air and motor freight systems, practices, and rates to determine the most practical and economic shipping methods.
- Prepare, expedite, dispatch, pick, and load shipments efficiently.
- Complete paperwork related to inspections and production reporting.
- Document incoming goods or products to work standards, verifying product and quantity.
- Store raw parts and materials safely in the proper location.
- Maintain Kanban inventory system accuracy.
- Clean and organize work areas and equipment.
- Actively participate in company-sponsored training programs.
- Complete additional duties and projects as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Ability to read a tape measure and other measuring devices.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions, including repetitive tasks.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with others as a participative team player.
- Previous forklift experience preferred.
- Previous overhead crane experience preferred.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
- Frequently required to hear and speak.
- Regularly stand, walk, sit, and use hands to grasp and handle.
- Occasionally lift up to 40 lbs.
- Regularly bend, stoop, and stretch while handling parts or objects.
- Specific vision requirements include close vision, ability to focus, and depth perception.
- May be exposed to oils, dirt, fumes, and moving equipment.
- Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
Pay
The starting rate for this position is $25.84/hour, with a range up to $28.26/hour. A $1.00/hour shift premium is applied for off-shift work.
