About the role
Based in Hebron, Kentucky, the Shipping/Receiving Clerk will perform essential job functions under the direction of the Customer Service Manager to meet production and customer needs. This position assists both receiving and shipping departments with unpacking, staging, transporting, and packing customer parts, while verifying the accuracy of accompanying paperwork. The role is very active and requires attention to detail and the ability to handle fragile parts with care.
This position is safety-sensitive due to the nature of our business and a heavy industrial market. The Shipping/Receiving Clerk is responsible for the care and treatment of customer inventory, ensuring duties are performed safely to prevent loss or damage.
Responsibilities
- Follow all written instructions, pack completed parts for shipping, and unpack parts for processing.
- Perform continuous visual inspection of parts for damages or issues before shipping to customers.
- Record and sign off on all applicable process steps defined in the job folder for each shipping operation.
- Locate shipping containers and safely use shipping and receiving materials and equipment, including forklifts, floor jacks, and hoists.
- Observe all Environmental, Health, and Safety Policy requirements:
- Keep work area neat and orderly at all times.
- Wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Assist others as directed by the Customer Service Manager.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must satisfy ITAR compliance requirements; candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Resident Card Holders.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain forklift operation certification.
- Must demonstrate the ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
- May be asked to work overtime or any shift, including weekends.
Physical & Mental Demands
- Must be able to work in a standing position for extended periods in an industrial environment.
- Ability to bend, pull, stoop, and reach to perform functions.
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
- May be exposed to heat, fumes, noise, and humidity.
- Must have the cognitive and mental capacity to perform essential job functions.
- Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Visual acuity to read documents, computer screens, and files.
- Ability to hear in person and via phone.
