Shipping/Receiving Clerk - 1st Shift

About the role

The Shipping & Receiving Clerk maintains records of incoming and outgoing shipments, prepares items for shipment, receives inbound deliveries, and stocks the warehouse. This position requires flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Compare identifying information and count, weigh, or measure items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
• Operate tow motor or pallet jack to move shipments between shipping/receiving platforms and warehouse; unload inbound material from vehicles and load outbound material.
• Follow ASR safety program requirements.
• Prepare and affix shipping labels (LTL) on packed skids, post weights and shipping charges, and affix postage.
• Unpack and examine incoming shipments, reject damaged items, record shortages, and correspond with shippers to resolve issues.
• Ensure proper storage of packaging supplies and finished goods in the warehouse.
• Log inbound deliveries from UPS and couriers (FedEx, Airborne, etc.).
• Prepare Bills of Lading (BOL) and labels.
• Examine shipments to ensure correct packaging, no damage, accurate paperwork/labels, and compliance with company and customer requirements.
• Perform quarterly or as-needed inventory of finished goods and supplies.
• Maintain food safety, authenticity, legality, and quality standards.
• Report risks or unsafe/out-of-specification products, equipment, packaging, or materials to a designated manager.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 1-2 years of experience in an industrial manufacturing and/or warehouse environment preferred.
• Prior forklift or tow motor experience preferred; ability to be certified is required.
• Proven ability to meet customer and management deadlines.
• High school diploma or GED preferred but not required; equivalent experience/training accepted.

Skills

• Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently up to 25 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
• Vision abilities: close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Physical demands: stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and communicate verbally.
• Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.

Pay

$21/hour
