About the role
This full-time permanent position is located in Plymouth, North Carolina, United States.
Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain the production schedule for the NC5 fluff pulp machine, including managing the mill-stock production order fulfillment process.
- Conduct daily reviews of container booking status changes and update production schedules and order files accordingly.
- Coordinate with the Logistics Manager and Corporate Production Planner to allocate customer product orders, update forecast demand, and set proper lead times while minimizing grade, setup, and transportation changes.
- Assist in managing mill inventory levels for finished goods to align with planned shipment windows and customer-required onsite stock inventory.
- Manage existing warehouse inventory and apply it to incoming orders as required.
- Coordinate production and transportation capacity planning.
- Advise the Logistics Manager and Corporate Production Planner of imbalances requiring schedule modifications or order shipment adjustments.
- Plan and schedule shipments with dedicated dray carriers, trucking, and rail lines as orders are processed and updated.
- Maintain accurate onsite order files, including daily changes and updates.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Requirements
- Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office products and the ability to gain proficiency with Autoprod, DPS, and other relevant software platforms.
- Strong planning, prioritizing, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Leadership potential and a mindset for driving positive change in processes, expectations, and performance.
- Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate across different levels of the organization.
- Some level of production and/or transportation planning experience is preferred.
- Must be willing to be on-call, including working off-hours and weekends as required.
- This position will require after-hours and weekend call duty for the Planning group.
