About the role
Provides clerical support and assistance to the department manager and personnel while coordinating shipments of finished product.
Responsibilities
- Coordinates and processes shipments of finished goods to customers in the most cost-effective and timely manner possible (approximately 90% of time).
- Supports and assists the Department Manager; assumes the Manager’s duties and responsibilities in their absence (approximately 5% of time).
- Works with the department to solve problems and troubleshoot Radius systems.
- Develops and revises standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the department as needed.
- Leads special projects to improve department functions (e.g., barcoding, automated receiving reports).
- Assists with receiving and shipping of UPS and Federal Express deliveries as needed.
- Prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for internal and external needs (approximately 2% of time).
- Maintains inventory of department supplies.
- Participates in department safety activities and safety team initiatives.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the public.
- Proficiency in basic arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals; ability to compute rates, ratios, percentages, and interpret bar graphs.
- Ability to solve practical problems involving concrete variables in situations with limited standardization.
- Ability to interpret instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
