Summary/Objective

The Shipping and Receiving Associate (SRA) packs and ships customer material components related to production streams, adhering to work instructions, specifications, and documentation within company-established systems.

Essential Functions

  • Stand, walk, sit, bend, reach, kneel, push, pull for long periods throughout the working day (lifting up to 50 pounds)
  • Operate safe use of forklifts, hand trucks, and other material-handling equipment
  • Load and unload trucks
  • Receive, verify, open, sort, and enter logs and inventories for supplier and vendor shipments (including handling returned, damaged, or defective goods)
  • Maintain shipping materials and supplies
  • Pack, organize, stack, and prepare customer order shipments according to standard operating procedures (SOP)
  • Unpack and examine incoming shipments, reject damaged items, record shortages, and communicate with shippers to resolve damages and shortages
  • Ensure parts, labels, material certifications, and shipping documents match customer orders and packing slips
  • Maintain a neat, safe, and well-organized work area
  • Ensure efficient and safe movement of materials from receiving and storage areas to shipping or production
  • Ensure all inbound and outbound shipments meet quality standards and are free of damage
  • Maintain precise records of all daily receiving and shipping activities in the computer system

Skills

  • Entry-level experience
  • Good organizational and communication skills
  • Basic skills in Microsoft Office
  • Willingness to learn other software programs if needed
  • Data entry experience
  • Knowledge in operating a stand-up reach truck
  • Ability to learn quickly, work reliably, and accurately
  • Contribute to working in a team environment
  • Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and other health and safety rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Attention to details to ensure quality of work

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required. Entry-level experience. Good organizational and communication skills. Basic skills in Microsoft Office and willingness to learn other software programs if needed. Data entry experience. Knowledge in operating a stand-up reach truck. Ability to learn quickly, work reliably, and accurately. Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and other health and safety rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. Attention to details to ensure quality of work. Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation. Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, climb, kneel, and reach.
