About the role

The Shift Supervisor plays a crucial role in supporting the Store Leadership Team, particularly during their absence on the sales floor. Their primary duties include supervising store staff, ensuring high levels of customer engagement, and driving sales.

Responsibilities

  • Supports Store Management in generating sales potential by being present on the sales floor and setting a positive tone.
  • Holds store keys to open and close the store without management, ensuring continuity in operations.
  • Manages rest and meal break schedules, covering all zones as needed.
  • Provides relevant feedback, coaching, and redirection to ensure top-notch customer service, sales, and sales floor etiquette.
  • Escalates performance concerns to the Store Manager and motivates the team to foster brand loyalty and a positive store environment.
  • Assists with store security, including bag checks and fitting room monitoring.
  • Ensures store staff are treated professionally and respectfully, and processes return/exchange transactions, promotional discounts, and employee sales.
  • Maintains compliance with all LP policies and adheres to professional conduct.
  • Represents the company in a professional manner and builds positive relationships with colleagues and customers.

Requirements

  • Able to lift large and heavy packages and boxes rapidly and constantly, and perform a continuous process of loading and unloading.
  • Ability to reach overhead, bend, kneel, and carry product, necessary for customer service, inventory re-stock, processing shipments, and store merchandising.
  • Able to stand/walk for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to safely lift 50 lbs. without restrictions.
  • Able to perform repetitive motions such as hanging, folding, ringing up customers, etc.
  • Able to use caution when dealing with difficult customers, houseless, and transients, avoiding confrontations.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.

Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of key holder experience in a retail setting preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Available to work weekends (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday).
  • Commitment to two store closings per week, including one being Friday or Saturday.
  • Ability to use and operate a retail POS system and inventory scanner.
  • Ability to make change using American monetary units.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build positive working relationships.
  • Completion of the Shift Supervisor three-month training program.
