Duties
- Comply with federal, state, local and company-specific regulations related to quality of product, employee and donor safety and to the proper performance of day-to-day activities.
- Commit to meeting customer service expectations by interacting with donors as they enter and exit the building.
- Manage the flow of the Center, including but not limited to managing employee breaks, and ensuring proper staff coverage in each area to help the flow of donor traffic.
- Cross train in Reception, Vitals, Lab, and Phlebotomy (non-phlebs will train in the donor room as a donor tech); fill in during breaks/shortages as needed.
- Supports the center management team in identifying operational opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Ensure that daily equipment maintenance and calibration activities are being performed as required in a timely manner.
- Assist with donor room turnover as required.
- Aid in resolving certain donor management system problems that occur during the donation process.
- Maintain donation times to ensure they are in line with company expectations.
- Operate, maintain, and perform troubleshooting of equipment (printers and plasmapheresis machines) within scope of training.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
- Education and Experience: High school degree or GED required.
- Required Skills/Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong supervisory and leadership skills; excellent organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to meet deadlines; proficient with data entry and inventory software and systems; ability to read and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and maintain complete and accurate records; good verbal communication and customer service skills; ability to multi-task and work as a team player.
- Physical Requirements: Read computer screens, procedure manuals and other documents; hear doorbells, alarms, telephone, and other mechanical devices; work confidently while being observed during frequent quality inspections; work in walk-in - subzero freezer(s); ability to lift, pull, tug up to 50 pounds to stock supplies and/or move or support donors; regularly required to use hands and fingers, to handle & feel objects, tools and controls; reach with hands and arms; work for extended intervals, walk, climb and balance; stoop, kneel and crouch; physical ability to operate equipment used on donor floor areas that may require repetitive motion and manual dexterity; ability to read while standing or sitting in front of a computer for short periods of time; must wear personal protective equipment (PPE) required such as eyewear, lab coats, and gloves.
