Shift Mechanic Job

About the role

Bostik - Calumet City is now hiring for a Shift Mechanic. Starting wage is $43.41 with an annual bonus potential of 4%. This position requires a strong work ethic, a positive safety record, and a commitment to quality.

Responsibilities

• Operation and maintenance of plant utilities including boilers, treatment ponds, chillers, cooling towers, and air compressors
• Safely perform routine maintenance activities on process equipment including pumps, agitators, and valves
• Operate forklifts to move materials and supplies in the plant
• Maintain work areas and report accurate inventories and supplies to management for efficient cost control

Requirements

• Willingness to work rotating shifts including weekends and holidays in a 24X7 operation
• Able to complete work orders in the maintenance database system and complete computer-based training
• Strong work history demonstrating a strong mechanical aptitude
• Good communication skills
• Self-motivated, positive attitude, and team player
• Authorized to work in the United States

Preferred

• 3 years of previous maintenance/mechanical experience in a PSM-regulated environment
• Safe driving experience, with fork-lift certification
• One year certificate from a college, technical school or equivalent experience and training
• 3 years experience with working with hazardous and flammable chemicals
