About the role
Evaluate, underwrite, and contract retail loan applications under approved fraud and loan processing policies for credit approval. Facilitate the creation of correct loan promotions and documents for execution. Provide a perfect client experience (PCE) to approved dealers to build and maintain lending relationships within Sheffield and Truist risk guidelines. Assist dealers in all aspects of financing procedures, policies, and options. Exhibit PCE behavior during outbound and inbound calls with external dealer/customer clients.
Responsibilities
- Process and decision credit applications, assessing risk consistent with Sheffield Loan Processing policies and Truist guidelines.
- Underwrite applications in line with fraud processes, applying override rules and adjudicating promotions for original equipment manufacturers (OEM). Approve credit under correct advance rates.
- Ensure all personal and dealer information is logged accurately in the system with high attention to detail.
- Adjudicate credit decisions within Sheffield’s service level agreement (SLA) time range or request additional information as needed.
- Field and service dealer/customer questions related to underwriting, operational, or procedural details, including promotional offerings, policies, incentives, lien perfection, and general information.
- Provide direct mailings of current programs to dealers to develop relationships.
- Execute dealer penetration and relationship-building campaigns through tele-consulting, dealer meetings, and open houses.
- Maintain working knowledge of Sheffield-financed products and manufacturer’s suggested retail prices (MSRPs).
- Assist management and other departments with operational, clerical, regulatory, and customer service initiatives without violating separation of duties principles.
- Initiate dealer service call activities for allocated dealer groups in accordance with departmental campaigns, call goals, and expectations.
- Manage fraud and mitigate Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering (BSA/AML) risk by following approved policies.
- Follow underwriting and scorecard processes, documenting accounts and using correct mitigating factors when adjudicating credit.
- Correctly calculate loan-to-value (LTV) and advance rates under OEM-approved guidelines.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Strong decision-making and organizational skills.

- Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
- Ability to multi-task and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications, such as Microsoft Office software products.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business.
- Retail finance experience, particularly in the indirect space.
