Responsibilities

  • Provide technical assistance to account managers in handling underwriting details such as values analysis, linesetting, reinsurance needs and placement, rating and pricing, analysis of coverage, terms and conditions, and cross liability analysis.
  • Serve as a resource to the Client Service department by gaining and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of underwriting standards, policy forms, and loss prevention practices.
  • Aid the Client Service team in the development and implementation of global insurance programs that satisfy customer needs while adhering to company policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Assist account managers in the preparation and delivery of internal and external meetings, presentations, proposals, and account servicing activities.
  • Stay up to date on market trends, coverage, programs, reinsurance, and new developments in the insurance market.
  • Manage smaller accounts when assigned and develop external client and broker negotiation and servicing skills.
  • Complete all necessary training in underwriting and other areas to attain underwriting binding authority and develop the skills, experience, and knowledge required to ultimately advance to account manager.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience working in the insurance industry with at least 2 years of loss prevention engineering experience preferred.
  • Flexibility in prioritizing and handling diverse activities and workload.
  • Excellent communication skills—written, presentational, and verbal.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with considerable attention to detail.
  • Excellent computer skills.
