About the Role

The Station Trainer will deliver classroom and on-the-job training (OJT), airline-specific training, signoffs, and evaluate employee performance at the station within their designated area of expertise. This role ensures company and customer service standards and policies are met while maintaining proficiency and certification in required operational functions. The Station Trainer will also serve as an interim supervisor, providing direction for all new hires until they are formally released to work independently within Ground Handling operations.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver detailed training in various formats such as instructor-led, virtual instructor-led, e-learning, self-directed, and on-the-job training, including relevant training materials.
  • Deliver and oversee detailed practical Cargo operations classroom and OJT, including final assessment and sign-off as required.
  • Follow Swissport Corporate and NOAM Training Policy and Procedures, and operate equipment following Swissport Safe Systems of Work (SSOW) or Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Actively monitor and promote best practices across the station.
  • Implement internal quality assurance activities, including operational audits.
  • Continuously assess training at the station to ensure staff are competent and confident in their duties.
  • Maintain compliance levels across the station.
  • Maintain regular communication and strong working relationships with subject matter experts (SMEs) to ensure training relevance.
  • Act as a role model, displaying best practice behavior and procedures.
  • Provide objective feedback and coaching to improve performance and behavior.
  • Report all training activity through recognized methods to ensure accurate tracking of training data.
  • Support nearby stations as needed.
  • Forecast and plan for new hire and recurrent training needs through ongoing communication with Regional Training Managers, local HR, and Operations teams.
  • Deliver and facilitate initial and recurrent training in accordance with global and local standards.
  • Administer required examinations and/or reports for training programs to maintain compliance.
  • Assist with the new hire tracking process to ensure a smooth transition to operations.
  • Assist with the on-the-job coaching program for designated areas/functions and serve as tier-one support for local certified coaches.
  • Maintain currency in the operation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of industry experience in airline Cargo operations.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent additional experience demonstrating the ability to resolve complex problems, foster positive working relationships, and balance multiple competing priorities.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% within the United States and Canada to support job responsibilities.
  • Ability to pass security clearance and possess a valid driver's license.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to influence without authority to achieve common goals.
  • Working knowledge of computer systems, with Microsoft Office Suite highly recommended.
  • Customer service-oriented.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts to accommodate training demands during off-peak hours.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated knowledge of adult learning processes, instructional design techniques, and evaluation methodologies.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, challenging, and changing environment.
  • Ability to create and deliver dynamic presentations, slide decks, and training materials.

Pay

$32.00/hour
