Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Complete trauma-informed and victim-focused training
- Provide quality advocacy and support to all survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence, and stalking
- Provide confidential crisis intervention and referrals to survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence, or stalking
- Accompany survivors to medical exams, court hearings, or Title IX services as requested
- Communicate regularly with the Title IX coordinator to share information about the needs of survivors specific to Heidelberg’s campus
- Attend trainings related to sexual assault advocacy
- Connect with campus and community partners
- Participation in campus events such as Take Back the Night, Walk-A-Mile, or other student events
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field and/or 1-3 years of experience in related field
- Ability to plan, coordinate, and provide direct services to students in need
- Knowledge of community resources
- Interpersonal skills and ability to relate to persons of all backgrounds and cultures
- Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to collaborate with allied professionals
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
- Ability to work under pressure and react rationally in crisis situations
- Must have a valid driver’s license
