About the role
The City of Anoka is seeking candidates for a Sewer & Water Maintenance position. This position may be filled as Maintenance I, II, III, or IV based on qualifications.
Responsibilities
- Maintenance I: Operation of equipment, preventative maintenance tasks, inspection tasks, painting equipment and structures, and other public services maintenance tasks.
- Maintenance II: Same as Maintenance I, plus prepare and paint various pieces of equipment and structures.
- Maintenance III: Daily checks, repairs, preventative maintenance, water well pumps, filtration plants, collection system, lift stations, distribution system, water meter testing, repairs and installations, hydro-static and conductivity testing of watermains, and more.
- Maintenance IV: Prepare water/sewer reports, carry out daily routine responsibilities of the Sewer & Water Supervisor, provide work direction and training to other maintenance employees, and perform all duties outlined in Sewer & Water Maintenance I, II, and III positions without direct supervision.
Requirements
- Maintenance I: Two years' employment experience, valid MN CDL Class B with tanker and air brakes endorsement, and basic computer experience.
- Maintenance II: Two years' employment experience, valid MN CDL Class B with tanker and air brakes endorsement, valid Class SD MN Sewer Collection Systems License, and valid Class D MN State Water Operators License.
- Maintenance III: Two (2) years Maintenance II experience or equivalent employment experience, valid MN CDL Class B with tanker and air brakes endorsement, valid Class SC MN Sewer Collection Systems License, and valid Class C MN State Water Operators License.
- Maintenance IV: Two and ½ (2-1/s) years Maintenance III experience or equivalent employment experience, valid MN CDL Class B with tanker and air brakes endorsement, valid Class SC MN Sewer Collection Systems License, and valid Class C MN State Water Operators License.
Qualifications
- Maintenance I: General maintenance background, ability to operate and back up pickup trucks, trailer, 1-ton truck with dump box, or single axel dump truck, and basic computer experience.
- Maintenance II: General maintenance background, ability to operate and back up pickup trucks, trailer, 1-ton truck with dump box, or single axel dump truck, valid MN CDL Class B with tanker and air brakes endorsement, valid Class SD MN Sewer Collection Systems License, and valid Class D MN State Water Operators License.
- Maintenance III: Two (2) years Maintenance II experience or equivalent employment experience, ability to operate and back up pickup trucks, trailer, 1-ton truck with dump box, or single axel dump truck, experience with water testing, control panels, and computers related to supervisory system, and valid MN CDL Class B with tanker and air brakes endorsement, valid Class SC MN Sewer Collection Systems License, and valid Class C MN State Water Operators License.
- Maintenance IV: Two and ½ (2-1/s) years Maintenance III experience or equivalent employment experience, ability to operate and back up pickup trucks, trailer, 1-ton truck with dump box, or single axel dump truck, experience with water testing, control panels, disinfection procedures, and necessary repairs to chemical field equipment, experience with hydrant, gate-valve, and watermain installation, and experience with water meter setting, repair, and testing, and valid MN CDL Class B with tanker and air brakes endorsement, valid Class SC MN Sewer Collection Systems License, and valid Class C MN State Water Operators License.
Pay
- Sewer & Water, Maintenance I: $29.21/hr to $30.21/hr DOQ
- Sewer & Water, Maintenance II: $34.11/hr to $35.11/hr DOQ
- Sewer & Water, Maintenance III: $38.93/hr to $39.93/hr DOQ
- Sewer & Water, Maintenance IV: $41.40/hr to $42.70/hr DOQ
