Sewage Enforcement Officer (SEO)

About the role

The Sewage Enforcement Officer (SEO) is responsible for enforcing local, state, and federal regulations regarding sewage systems and waste management.

Responsibilities

• Inspect sewage systems to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
• Issue citations and warnings to property owners who violate sewage regulations.
• Conduct investigations into sewage-related complaints and issues.
• Provide technical assistance to community members on proper sewage system maintenance.
• Prepare reports and documentation related to inspections and enforcement activities.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience in a similar field.
• Knowledge of local, state, and federal environmental regulations.
• Experience with public speaking and community outreach.

Skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
• Proficiency in computer software, particularly GIS and data analysis tools.

Pay

$30-$35 per hour based on experience.

Schedule

Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
