About the Role

Operator responsible for setting up and operating various equipment used in bending, drilling, sawing, or forming copper parts, making adjustments necessary to comply with drawings, quality, and methods procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Interact with others and be self-motivated to maximize production.
  • Read and understand blueprints.
  • Operate and read all measuring devices.
  • Set up and operate various equipment used in bending, drilling, sawing, and forming parts.
  • Stand constantly, walk occasionally, bend frequently, squat occasionally, and reach forward frequently (these motions are sustained and repetitive).
  • Maintain good safety habits; caution is required in preparing the hairpin bender for operation.
  • Wear safety glasses at all times to avoid eye injury.
  • Frequently lift up to 50 lbs. or more with assistance, using proper body techniques for floor, knee, and waist lifts.
  • Perform other jobs in the cell as needed.
  • Assist in training personnel as required.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and interpret complicated shop drawings.
  • Strong mechanical background and ability to use simple math with both decimals and fractions.
  • Must wear safety protective equipment at all times.
