Settlement Coordinator

This position requires skills in collections, organization, and customer service. The role is the lead point of contact for all carrier and customer settlement questions, ensuring loads are closed accurately and payments are processed efficiently. It offers a comprehensive view of transportation back-office operations in a dynamic logistics environment.

Responsibilities

• Verify the accuracy of load settlements based on carrier documentation.
• Review and resolve settlement discrepancies with customers and carriers.
• Follow up on proof of deliveries, accessorial charges, weight losses, and detention requests.
• Support the Accounting Team as the primary point of contact for settlement issues.
• Ensure loads are closed efficiently and accurately from start to finish.

• Ability to manage multiple open items simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
• Self-motivated with strong problem-solving and follow-through.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
• TIA Certified Transportation Broker designation is a plus.
• Experience in billing is ideal, especially 2-3 years.
• Basic Excel skills.
• Accounting degree with an internship or 1 year of experience is also considered.

Work Environment

This is a full-time, contract position based in our Lincoln office downtown. The dress code is casual, allowing for jeans without holes and a nice shirt or polo. The team consists of two people, and the office has 10-15 staff members. The role is currently focused on managing a backlog in the billing department, requiring strong organization skills to manage documentation and schedule payments efficiently.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr. Individual compensation offered within this range will depend on qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
