About the role

This Studio will provide a variety of design problems across different, nested scales, encouraging a comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach. It is a team-oriented project-based course in which students will determine and develop a collaborative project within the built or natural environment.

Estimate of course enrollment: 25
Estimate of TA Support: 75 hours per practicum section

Schedule

Class Schedule: Friday 09:00-12:00, Tuesday 09:00-12:00
Sessional dates of appointment: September 1, 2026 - December 31, 2026

Pay

  • Sessional Lecturer I: $9,997.47
  • Sessional Lecturer I Long Term: $10,699.21
  • Sessional Lecturer II: $10,699.21
  • Sessional Lecturer II Long Term: $10,953.96
  • Sessional Lecturer III: $10,953.96
  • Sessional Lecturer III Long Term: $11,228.90

(Salary inclusive of 4% or 6% vacation pay, where applicable. Should rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail.)

Responsibilities

  • Attending meetings required by program director
  • Preparation and delivery of course material
  • Managing digital teaching materials
  • Preparation and delivery of assignments, tests, final examinations, and deferred final examinations
  • Marking of student work and submission of grades
  • Dealing with student enquiries, appeals, and petitions
  • Student contact hours

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Architecture (or related design discipline) and relevant professional experience in design.

Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional degree in architecture (Master’s or Bachelor’s)
  • Record of teaching architectural design at the undergraduate or graduate level
  • Demonstrated experience in architectural practice (an asset)
  • Demonstrated design excellence, evaluated through professional experience, design awards (if applicable), and a 1–2 page portfolio
