Course: ARC2014YS - Design Studio 4, the fourth architectural design studio in the Master of Architecture sequence. Students integrate structural and environmental systems, respond to site conditions, and address a program of moderate complexity.

Responsibilities

  • Attend meetings required by the studio coordinator
  • Prepare and deliver course material
  • Manage digital teaching materials
  • Supervise teaching assistants
  • Prepare and deliver assignments, tests, final examinations, and deferred final examinations
  • Mark student work and submit grades
  • Handle student enquiries, appeals, and petitions
  • Maintain student contact hours

Requirements

  • M.Arch degree or other graduate degree in Architecture (preferred)
  • Proven record of teaching foundation design studios at the M.Arch and/or B.A/B.Arch level

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of contemporary architectural pedagogy and the current state of the discipline, both practical and theoretical

Schedule

  • Mondays: 14:00–18:00
  • Thursdays: 09:00–13:00 and 14:00–18:00
  • Sessional dates: January 1, 2027 – April 30, 2027
  • Estimated course enrollment: 14
  • No TA support provided

Pay

  • Sessional Lecturer I: $9,997.47
  • Sessional Lecturer I Long Term: $10,699.21
  • Sessional Lecturer II: $10,699.21
  • Sessional Lecturer II Long Term: $10,953.96
  • Sessional Lecturer III: $10,953.96
  • Sessional Lecturer III Long Term: $11,228.90

Salary includes 4% or 6% vacation pay, where applicable. Should rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the collective agreement rates shall prevail.
