ServiceNow Developer

This position is primarily remote, but the candidate must reside in North Carolina, preferably within commuting distance to Raleigh. Occasional on-site meetings in the Raleigh area will be required. The candidate is responsible for picking up and dropping off equipment at their own expense on the first and last day, respectively.

About the role

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated ServiceNow Developer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in designing, developing, and implementing ServiceNow applications and solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop ServiceNow applications and modules, including form design, workflow creation, and custom scripting.
• Customize and configure ServiceNow modules and applications to fit business needs, including incident management, change management, and problem management.
• Develop and maintain integrations between ServiceNow and other systems or platforms using web services, APIs, or other integration tools.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with the ServiceNow platform, including debugging scripts, workflows, or integrations.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation for ServiceNow configurations, customizations, and integrations.
• Collaborate with business analysts, project managers, and end-users to understand requirements and provide solutions.
• Implement best practices for ServiceNow development and administration, including coding standards, testing procedures, and change management processes.
• Participate in system upgrades and maintenance activities, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.

Requirements

• Proven ServiceNow experience (3+ years).
• Experience with web applications, networks, protocols, and email (SMTP, POP3) (3+ years).
• Basic understanding of ITIL v3 methodologies (3+ years).
• Understanding of enterprise IT architecture (3+ years).
• Working knowledge of relational databases (3+ years).
• Proficiency in web technologies (XML, HTML, JavaScript, AJAX, CSS, HTTP, etc.) (3+ years).
• Experience with LDAP directories, such as Active Directory, eDirectory, or OpenLDAP (3+ years).
• Impeccable time-management and record-keeping skills (5+ years).
• Ability to translate complex end-user requirements into code (5+ years).
• Positive can-do attitude and willingness to learn (5+ years).
• Strong personal commitment to quality service (5+ years).
