ServiceNow Administrator/Developer
About the role
The ServiceNow Administrator/Developer will support NASA’s Flight Operations Directorate (FOD) and associated IT services, including mission-enabling applications built and hosted on the NASA FIT ServiceNow environment. Key responsibilities include configuring, maintaining, and extending ServiceNow applications, administering the NASA FIT ServiceNow environment, designing and developing new applications, and troubleshooting and resolving platform issues.
Responsibilities
- Configure, maintain, and extend ServiceNow applications for change management, incident/problem tracking, workflow automation, and custom modules.
- Administer and configure the NASA FIT ServiceNow environment, including modules like Incident, Change, Problem, Request, CMDB, and custom applications.
- Design and develop new ServiceNow applications, forms, workflows, integrations, and automation scripts.
- Support and enhance existing ServiceNow tools used by FOD and FIT teams.
- Translate operational requirements into technical solutions through collaboration with NASA stakeholders, developers, systems engineers, and process owners.
- Ensure security compliance (PIV/Smartcard, NCAD, SAML/Kerberos integration).
- Perform routine maintenance, system upgrades, plugin activation, and instance health monitoring.
- Troubleshoot and resolve platform issues and provide end-user support.
- Maintain documentation, test plans, configuration records, and change control submissions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Engineering, or related technical field from an accredited institution, plus 3-5 years of ServiceNow administration and development experience.
- Proficiency with ServiceNow Studio & Scoped Applications, Flow Designer & Workflow Editor, and scripting (JavaScript, Glide APIs, REST integrations).
- Experience with ITSM, ITIL processes, and strong understanding of Agile development principles and experience working on Scrum teams.
- Ability to obtain and maintain NASA network access (NCAD) and complete NAMS requests.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.

- Must have sufficient mobility to enter areas of test facilities where necessary.
