About the role
As the Service Planner, you will be a key part of assisting the Service Operations team, responsible for maintaining service supply plans and ensuring customer return demand requirements are met.
Responsibilities
- Maintain all system parameters including contracts, part numbers, bills of material, chaining, material, and supplier data relationships to ensure timely and accurate setup.
- Actively manage inventory shortages and excess, minimum stock levels, demand forecasts, and monitor key performance metrics for monthly management review.
- Collaborate with production and factory teams to reduce excess, coordinate with the production planning team on alternate parts, and work with the business unit on demand and flexibility trade-offs.
- Address capacity, material, or production issues by determining tradeoff options and crafting efficient solutions with internal partners.
- Analyze demand shortfalls and supply changes to prepare a weekly supply summary.
- Liaise with Repair Operations to maximize the usage of refurbished material.
- Develop ramp plans for products from early-stage sampling to production, coordinating transition plans based on customer qualification schedules and supply availability.
- Use SAP planning and buying skills to support all supply-related matters.
- Manage purchase orders for all service-related products at repair and new build sites.
- Provide analytic and systems support for the Service Planning team.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in service planning, preferably with SAP.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics, or relevant areas (or equivalent work experience).
- Strong communication, problem-solving, teamwork, organizational, and quantitative skills.
- Proven ability to document, automate, and improve processes while driving cross-functional changes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel (including formulas, pivot tables, and macros), and MRP systems.
- Excellent English language skills (reading, writing, speaking, and listening).
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, self-starter, and collaborator with a strong sense of ownership.
- Direct experience with service operations, spares parts planning, and customer support.
- Startup mentality: proactive in driving actions and willing to take on additional responsibilities as the business grows.
Skills
- Experience working with service supply chains and understanding their differences from production-focused supply chains.
- Ability to articulate supply-demand status and challenges at an executive level.
- Experience with large IT projects, including discovering and communicating process and system requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to drive solutions to real-world operational problems.
- Leadership in establishing preventive action plans to improve company performance.
- Capability to independently analyze problems and influence management decisions.
- Experience with Service planning systems (e.g., Prophet by Baxter).
- Direct experience with build-to-order and configure-to-order products and their supply chains.
- Experience in fast-paced service logistics and operations support.
- Results-oriented, analytical, curious, and self-motivated with creative problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with SFDC, Baxter, SAP, CRM, or similar systems.
- Excellent tracking and reporting skills.
- Customer-focused attitude.
