Responsibilities
- Provides overall management direction for service projects.
- Develops job estimates, procures equipment and subcontracts, monitors and accurately projects job costs, maintains billing, project schedules, and provides technical support and leadership to the field.
- Provides oversight with the project’s Superintendent on the day-to-day activities of assigned projects.
- Develops and maintains long term customer relationships to foster better communications and develop future work.
- Prepares estimates for service projects and larger service repair opportunities.
- Ultimately responsible for projects being completed on time and on budget.
- Reviews project estimates and verifies the accuracy of entry into the job cost system as well as the accuracy of the initial estimate.
- Conducts pre-job and continuing planning meetings to ensure all project team members understand contract terms and conditions, clauses, schedules, or any unusual requirements of the project.
- Documents planning meeting results and ensures all action items are completed.
- Develops and keeps current all project schedules.
- Maintains personnel manning schedules to ensure they match project schedules.
- Visits job sites as required. Performs work inspections, checks job progress, and resolves project and contract issues.
- Investigates potentially serious job issues and implements corrective measures.
- Stays on top of all change orders to ensure they are processed and incorporated into the current scope of work in a timely manner.
- Provides material takeoff, estimate, and pricing for change orders.
- Conducts meetings according to customer and company guidelines and schedules.
- Prepares and submits progress billings and follow up to ensure receipt of payments.
- Guides the operations team to implement and execute the highest level of customer satisfaction/service, focusing on planning, implementation, and customer communication.
Requirements
- Familiar with the setting of equipment like air handling equipment, plumbing, and other HVAC type activities.
- Preferably possess a strong knowledge in the area of service plumbing, HVAC Service, and installation.
- Although not required, a Mechanical Engineering degree and/or concrete knowledge is a plus.
- Superior communication and interpersonal skills.
