Responsibilities

  • Welcome, direct, and assist patients and visitors in a courteous manner using proper verbal and non-verbal communication.
  • Drive guest vehicles from Medical Plaza, Emergency Room, or JTCC to designated parking area of garages for valet parking and return vehicles to proper locations for pick-up.
  • Operate motor vehicles safely and effectively according to New Jersey motor vehicle laws.
  • Assist incoming and outgoing guests with wheelchair assistance and help them enter and exit vehicles.
  • Accurately document all vehicle tag information, claim numbers, and key storage locations.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety of vehicles at all times.
  • Document and process revenue and non-revenue traffic exiting the parking garages.
  • Coordinate traffic flow between intersections and maintain pedestrian traffic in walkways.
  • Troubleshoot and report equipment malfunctions.
  • Report accidents and notify security and supervisors.
  • Transport outpatients between home and participating HUMC departments.
  • Complete daily logs and submit to management.
  • Anticipate the needs of the patient population and provide appropriate customer service.
  • Complete all beginning and end-of-shift procedures.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • 1 year automatic driving experience.
  • Standing, walking, visual acuity, manual dexterity, and outdoor work experience.
  • Work every weekend, holiday, and flexible rotating hours.

Compensation

The minimum rate of pay is $18.57 per hour. HMH is committed to pay equity and transparency for its team members. The posted rate of pay is a reasonable good faith estimate of the minimum base pay for this role at the time of posting, in accordance with the New Jersey Pay Transparency Act. The starting rate of pay is provided for informational purposes only and is not a guarantee of a specific offer. The base compensation determined at the time of the offer may be different than the posted rate of pay based on a number of non-discriminatory factors, including but not limited to:

  • Labor Market Data: Compensation is benchmarked against market data to ensure competitiveness.
  • Experience: Years of relevant work experience.

  • Geographic Location: Cost of living and market rates for the specific location.
  • Internal Equity: Compensation is determined in a manner consistent with compensation ranges for similar roles within the organization.
  • Budget and Grant Funding: Departmental budgets and any grant funding associated with the job position may impact the pay that can be offered.

Some jobs may also be eligible for performance-based incentives, bonuses, or commissions not reflected in the starting rate. Certain positions may also be eligible for shift differentials for work performed on evening, night, or weekend shifts.
