SERVICE ADVISOR - John Deere

About the role

West Central Equipment, the John Deere agriculture and mowing equipment dealership in Central and Western Pennsylvania, is seeking a Service Advisor for the Butler Store. We sell, service, and supply parts for John Deere tractors, skid loaders and track loaders, balers, combines, planters, mowers, utility vehicles, implements, and related equipment.

The Service Advisor will have knowledge of equipment engines and systems, strong people skills, service department experience, and the ability to identify equipment problems. High-quality customer satisfaction and communication ability are required. West Central Equipment and John Deere provide excellent training and experience for future career growth.

Responsibilities

• Interpret equipment problems through listening, clarifying, inspecting, and test-driving
• Verify if warranty coverage, service contract, or maintenance plan participation is applicable
• Develop and communicate accurate estimates, and maintain contact with customers regarding deviations from estimates
• Prepare repair orders (RO) and enter RO into the service database system
• Assign work to service technicians
• Maintain customer relationships and enhance company reputation
• Maintain equipment records
• Prepare billing documents and complete billing and payment with customers
• Complete required training
• Download and use company apps on your personal phone

Requirements

• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Good mechanical aptitude
• Good understanding of hydraulic and electrical systems used in tractors and mowers
• Solid computer skills
• General ag and turf equipment product knowledge
