About the role

The Server position at MBK Senior Living is dedicated to enhancing the dining experience for residents, family members, and visitors. This role involves providing exceptional customer service, managing dining areas, and ensuring the cleanliness and hygiene of the dining spaces.

Responsibilities

  • Takes written food orders and serves meals to residents, family members, and visitors in a professional, efficient, and courteous manner, ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Aids residents with meal/menu selections as necessary or requested.
  • Uses proper etiquette and manners while waiting tables, being courteous and professional (serving from the left, clearing used dishes between courses, etc.).
  • Reviews residents' dietary needs as outlined by the Supervisor.
  • Tracks resident attendance at meals and provides this information promptly to the appropriate person.
  • Ensures that all residents are greeted and seated properly, making extra efforts to integrate new residents and make them feel welcome and comfortable.
  • Maintains a clean and sanitary dining area and complies with all policies and procedures regarding the proper handling and serving of food.
  • Displays tact and friendliness when interacting with residents, team members, and guests.
  • Aid in community marketing efforts through positive interactions, dressing and behaving according to grooming and dress standards.
  • Serves, cleans, resets tables, returns dishes to the kitchen.
  • Cleans and sets up all dining and food service areas, including stocking condiments, pulling out old items, and restocking as necessary (sugars, salt/pepper, ketchup, etc.).
  • Assists with other kitchen and dining services to ensure residents have a positive dining experience.
  • Reports any safety or equipment issues to the Supervisor.
  • Other duties as assigned or directed by Supervisors or designee of the Executive Director.

Requirements

  • Age over 18 years or have proper work permit and authorization documentation.
  • Complete a health screening and provide a negative TB test result (within the last 6 months or within 7 days of employment).
  • Basic counting skills as required by the position (tracking meals/residents, etc.).
  • Good communication skills including the ability to speak, write, understand, and read English.
  • Ability to operate standard serving equipment (salad bar cart, trays, heating cart, etc.).
  • Must be mindful regarding the use of resources and supplies, minimizing waste and misuse when possible.
  • Complete the dining room training course with CCG.
  • Meet and maintain all state specific regulatory requirements.

Physical Demands

  • Must be mobile and able to perform the physical requirements of the job including standing for long periods of time, bending, kneeling, stooping, pushing, pulling, and repetitive motion.
  • Able to move intermittently throughout the work day and throughout the community.
  • Able to lift/carry 40+ lbs., push and pull carts as necessary.

Pay and Schedule

Pay: $11.00 - $11.25
Schedule: 1-3 days a week, 4:30pm-7:30pm
