Essential Functions
- Create an atmosphere that induces guests to choose Hard Rock Casino Rockford for gaming entertainment.
- Build and retain guest relations and act as a mentor to team members to provide superior guest service.
- Greet each guest and provide superior guest service at all company Food and Beverage operations.
- Maintain a pleasant and courteous attitude.
- Complete all opening and closing duties.
- Aid bussers in setting tables with clean dishes, glasses, and flatware in accordance with approved guest service procedures.
- Present menu to guests, suggest courses, appropriate drinks, and answer questions regarding food preparation.
- Offer drinks and take food and beverage orders.
- Have basic knowledge of all house and call liquor.
- Serve meals to patrons according to established rules or etiquette, working in a family or formal setting.
- Check for quality after each course.
- Refill all drinks when needed.
- Maintain clean ashtrays.
- Buss tables as needed.
- Remove all dirty dishes and glassware from the guest’s tables during and after each course.
- Total bill, present check, collect settlement, and take payment to cashier.
- Aid bussers in clearing tables and dirty dishes, glasses, and flatware in accordance with approved guest service procedures.
- Transport dish cart to and from service station/steward’s station.
- Stock server stations with all necessary items.
- Aid bussers in maintaining the general cleanliness of all public areas, including carpeted and tiled floors, furniture, and waitress stations.
- Re-supply guest tables, venue areas, and waitress stations, including backup glasses, silverware, and dishes.
- Adhere to sanitation standards as outlined by State Law and company.
- Maximize profit and guest satisfaction through effective cost controls.
- Work considerately with team members from all departments.
- Check out with supervisor before leaving at the end of your shift.
Additional Requirements
- Must obtain and maintain all licenses/certifications per Federal, State, and Illinois Gaming Commission.
- Must successfully pass background check.
- Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
- Must be able to work holidays and weekends, as well as flexible shifts.
Knowledge and Abilities
- High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalency preferred.
- Table service procedures and table etiquette.
- Valid Food Handlers Card, Liquor License, and IGC Badge when working.
- Manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and ability to work with hand above shoulders.
- Ability to move throughout the business (standing, walking, kneeling, bending) for extended periods of time.
- Ability to make repeating movements of the arms, hands, and wrists.
- Ability to express or exchange ideas verbally and perceive sound by ear.
- Ability to turn or twist body parts in a circular motion.
- Ability to tolerate exposure to heat, cold, chemicals, and loud/noisy environment.
