Part-time position interacting with residents and guests in Independent Living.

About the role

Servers are expected to be attentive to residents' and guests' needs, making them feel welcome, comfortable, important, and relaxed.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of services in the Dining Room, including waiting on assigned tables, taking orders, setting and busing tables.
• Ensure all shift duties are thoroughly completed before the close of each shift.
• Set up and clean up for special functions.
• Understand every menu item and special before each meal period to answer diners' questions.
• Properly greet all residents and guests.
• Adhere to all sanitation and food handling protocols.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures of Encore Village and regulatory authorities.
• Maintain confidentiality of all pertinent resident information to protect residents' rights and employee confidentiality.
• Maintain proper personal appearance and hygiene according to established procedures.
• Attend and participate in in-service training programs.
• Report all hazardous conditions or equipment.
• Prepare routine set-up of the dining room for the next day and/or special holidays.
• Maintain quality level of service.
• Demonstrate effective reading, writing, and speaking skills.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Good communication skills.
