Server

Responsibilities

• Offering a welcoming, professional, yet casual experience for both locals and visitors
• The sales and service of our food and beverage
• Ability to suggest specific food/wine pairings
• Attending to guest’s needs before, during, and after their meal
• Timely delivery of all food and beverage
• Checking on guests throughout their meal providing attentive hospitality throughout their dining experience
• A working knowledge of all ingredients and preparation used on the menu
• A working knowledge of the wine list and how to properly serve wine
• Knowing and following steps of service, taking proper care of guests, while maintaining a sense of urgency
• Reading each table and knowing how each guest defines excellent service
• Continual communication with other FOH/BOH staff members and management
• High standards of cleanliness and appearance throughout all areas of the restaurant before, during, and after service

Qualifications

• At least 2 years experience as a server working in full-service restaurant
• Passion for food, cocktails, wine, and beer service
• Ability to suggestively sell
• Outgoing personality - a “people person”
• Excellent communication skills with guests, co-workers, and management
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
• Ability to be able to carry plates, glasses, silverware using trays
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to stay positive and calm under pressure
