About the role
As a Server in a memory care, assisted living and/or independent living facility, you will be responsible for providing excellent dining service to residents, ensuring a positive and enjoyable meal experience. This includes taking orders, serving food and beverages, setting up and clearing tables, maintaining cleanliness, and providing attentive service to residents' needs.
Responsibilities
- Accurately recording and delivering meal and beverage orders from residents
- Promptly and courteously delivering food and beverages to residents, ensuring they are presented attractively
- Providing attentive and friendly service, checking on residents' needs during meals, and addressing any requests or concerns
- Assisting with setting up the dining room before meals, including table settings and condiments, and maintaining cleanliness throughout the meal service
- Clearing tables after meals and resetting them for the next service
- Taking and delivering room service orders to residents' apartments
- Being familiar with the menu and able to answer residents' questions about the food and any special dietary needs
- Interacting with residents and their guests in a professional and courteous manner, creating a positive and welcoming atmosphere
- Following all food safety and hygiene procedures, including proper food handling, storage, and sanitation practices
- Collaborating with other wait staff and kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient meal service
- Disposing of food and waste in accordance with established policies
- Other duties assigned appropriate to the position
Requirements and qualifications
- Knowledge of high standards of food service sanitation and safety at a level normally acquired through on-the-job training
- Requires maintaining high standards of personal hygiene while working, including frequent hand washing and securing hair away from the face
- Interpersonal skills necessary to establish effective relationships with department workers and with other departments
- Skill and ability to learn to operate kitchen equipment
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain active CPR/First Aid Certification during employment
- Requires current Food Handlers card issued by local Health Department
- Knowledge of dietary practices and procedures, as well as related laws, regulations and pertaining to hospital and nursing home operation
- Friendly, attentive, and professional demeanor with residents and guests
- Maintain confidentiality of all resident care information
- Compassion for and desire to work with the elderly
- Create and uphold an atmosphere of warmth, patience, enthusiasm, and a calm and cheerful environment
Schedule and pay
- Type: Part-Time
- Schedule: Various schedule, Weekend availability needed
- Wage: $17.45-$22.77/hr DOE
- Attendance bonus: The perfect attendance bonus in a pay period will be $75.00 for a part-time employee
