About the Role
As an Applebee’s server, you will delight guests by exceeding expectations, serving food and beverages, and accommodating guests’ needs in a courteous and timely manner. You will follow Applebee’s Basic Service Steps and the Service Promise while fostering a culture aligned with the TSFR Roadmap, including Our Core Purpose, Vision, Mission, and Core Values.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests and interact with every guest to create a friendly, upbeat work environment.
- Familiarize guests with the menu and make appropriate suggestions when requested.
- Take guests' orders and input them correctly in the POS using the write, repeat, and review rule.
- Serve food and beverages using the Applebee’s TEAM delivery system.
- Pre-bus tables and sweep the surrounding area to keep it clean and comfortable.
- Collect payment from customers in a timely manner using the QR code or POS.
- Complete daily cleaning work tasks and maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Anticipate guests' needs to facilitate an enjoyable dining experience.
Requirements
- Excellent customer service skills and the ability to exceed guests’ expectations.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Good attitude toward teamwork and a strong work ethic with a willingness to take initiative.
- Confident, outgoing demeanor.
- Flexibility to work a variable schedule, including evenings and weekends.
- Ability to be mobile for a minimum of 4 hours, bend, stoop, and lift up to 20 pounds.
- Legal age to serve alcohol.
Skills
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as contracts, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with variables in situations with limited standardization.
- Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Physical and Mental Demands
- Frequently required to sit, talk, hear, walk, use hands and fingers to feel, handle, or operate objects, and reach with hands and arms.
- Occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 30 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
- Work in a team environment and handle a fast-paced setting.
- Flexibility and willingness to accept change.
- Ability to communicate with others, both verbally and in writing.
Work Environment
On occasion, you may need to travel in an automobile to other locations, either alone or accompanied by a co-worker.
