Job Description
The new Marriott Owings Mills and The Tillery is a true gem of the community. A brand-new property kindled by the design of David S. Brown Enterprises and honoring the history of tradition of old Owings Mills. The Tillery Restaurant & Lounge brings the best of the expansive countryside together with a modern and intimate dining experience - we call it Farm to Centre. Local hospitality is at the center of it all. And at the center of hospitality is food.
Essential Job Functions
- Clean off all plate and glassware from tables that have left.
- Resettle the table in the restaurant’s style, ensuring it is set properly and cleaned.
- Clean the chairs and floor area around the table.
- Bring all dishware to the dish area for cleaning.
- Restock service stands.
- Deliver food orders from the kitchen to customers’ tables rapidly and accurately.
- Communicate food orders to chefs, paying attention to priorities and special requests (e.g., food allergies).
- Maintain the beverage station (coffee, tea, etc.), emptying trash, bringing clean glassware to the bar area, getting ice, bringing linen, and folding napkins.
- Answer guests’ questions about ingredients and menu items.
- Inform restaurant staff about customers’ feedback or requests (e.g., when they ask for the check).
- Ensure families with young children get kids menus and special silverware sets.
Required Skills And Abilities
- Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
- Must meet state legal age requirements.
- Must speak fluent English.
