About the role

Under the supervision of the SECR Stewarding Supervisor, ensure the highest levels of cleanliness for our guests and team members.

Responsibilities

• Keep all equipment in an excellent and presentable appearance.
• Clean and organize all kitchen areas.
• Clean stoves and ovens.
• Clean and mop floors, walls, wash tubs, counters, shelves, and stainless steel.
• Clean drains of debris and empty traps.
• Clean under cooking equipment, dishwashers, and food prep tables.
• Coordinate through Stewarding Shift Supervisor the preventative maintenance of all kitchen equipment in kitchen and food service areas.
• Follow preventative maintenance schedules and work on all kitchen equipment, ensuring preventative maintenance meets standards to reach the highest levels of cleanliness.
• Keep all items stored properly.
• Complete all work in a timely, efficient, and organized manner.
• Demonstrate a “we care” attitude and present a professional demeanor to guests and team members.
• Support team dynamics on the job.
• Maintain a thorough understanding of Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort’s policies and procedures, including all sanitation rules and regulations.
• Assist with washing, peeling vegetables, rudimentary knife work, and cooler maintenance.
• Provide excellent customer service for all internal and external customers at all times, focusing on customer service as a top priority.
• Provide solutions for customer concerns.
• Maintain strict confidentiality and present a positive, professional demeanor and image at all times.

Contacts

Regular contact with Stewarding Supervisors, Executive Steward, Department Chef and Manager, Sous Chef, and Culinary Supervisor to ensure operational success through communication and teamwork.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be able to pass a background check to meet employment eligibility requirements.
• Must be able to attend annual ServSafe Food Handler training classes.
• Native American preference shall apply to all positions.

Skills

• Knowledge of power washing equipment, power vacuums, and hydraulic lifts.
• Knowledge of occupational hazards and applicable safety practices.
• Knowledge of cleaning equipment.
• Skill in the use of cleaning tools, chemicals, cleaners, and disinfectants.
• Ability to comprehend and consistently follow oral and written directions regarding policies, procedures, and the use of supplies and equipment.
• Ability to work a varied schedule.
• Ability to interact and maintain good working relationships with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Ability to follow simple written and verbal instructions and accomplish repetitive tasks.
• Ability to work weekends, holidays, and varying shifts to provide 24/7 coverage.

Physical Demands

• Frequent use of hands, wrists, and fingers associated with cleaning duties.
• Frequent standing and walking throughout the Casino and Resort.
• Frequent bending, lifting, stooping, twisting, and reaching.
• Occasionally lift/move up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment

• Frequent walking and standing in a smoking environment and contact with the general public.
• Constant visual stimulation via neon lights on slot machines, repeatedly changing machine video screens, static or flashing signs, and constant machine and crowd noise.
• Must possess sufficient stamina to work under all types of conditions, including hot/cold, and to lift, carry, push, or pull a variety of equipment and materials.
• Exposure to various chemicals; situations where safety equipment is needed may occur.
• Extended hours and irregular shifts may be required.

Pay

$14.52 per hour
