About the Role
The Manager of SEO will oversee the SEO team's client work, personnel, quality control, strategy, training, and cross-department communication. The position also handles complex client issues, sales demonstrations, and technical audits while helping develop SEO services across competitive industries.
Responsibilities
- Guide SEO tactics and strategy across the client portfolio while overseeing SEO Consultants.
- Maintain quality control for optimizations, link building, review responses, content, reports, and other client deliverables.
- Hire, manage, and, when necessary, terminate department employees.
- Lead monthly audits of work performed by the SEO team.
- Conduct sales demonstrations and audit websites for clients without SEO services.
- Handle major client issues and manage communication between departments.
- Support projects tied to departmental OKRs, roadmaps, and churn initiatives.
- Partner with the Training team on SEO education and skill development.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry-specific experience.
- At least four years of SEO experience and five years of management experience.
- Advanced Local SEO experience.
- Experience with SEO and website auditing tools, including Screaming Frog.
- Proficiency with Google Analytics, data analysis, Excel, and Word.
- Strong written and verbal communication, content writing, and editing abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Advanced HTML and CSS knowledge, multi-vertical SEO experience, PR/outreach experience, or experience managing a large SEO consulting team is preferred.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary: $69,800-$102,600 USD per year.
