Sentinel - Principal/Sr. Principal Systems Engineer - 19627*

Relocation assistance may be available. This position requires an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, with an investigation date within the last 6 years. Must be able to obtain Top Secret Clearance and Special Access Program (SAP) within a reasonable period. Travel is required, approximately 10% of the time.

About the role

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Principal / Sr. Principal Systems Engineer to support the Sentinel program in Roy, UT. This role involves sustainment, development, production, and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities, and associated infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with program IPT counterparts to develop supporting systems engineering and design artifacts.
• Work with technical teams and stakeholders to develop and mature architecture content for large programs.
• Develop and incorporate appropriate system requirements, ensuring proper representation in the model.
• Develop systems architecture using Cameo Enterprise Architecture (behavioral, structural, analytical).
• Contribute to system requirements development, management, and analysis.
• Develop unifying model techniques, procedures, and processes for model development, tool integration, and team integration.

This position is contingent on contract award and may be filled as a Principal (level 3) or Sr. Principal (level 4) Systems Engineer.

Requirements

Principal Systems Engineer:

• Bachelor's degree in STEM and 5 years of experience, or 3 years with a master’s degree, or 0 years with a PhD.
• 1 year of experience with requirements management/analysis/allocations.
• 1 year of experience with Model-Based Engineering / Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBE/MBSE) practices, languages, or tools such as Cameo, Rhapsody, or MagicDRAW.
• 1 year of experience with one or more of the following: Command & Control (C2), physical security, cybersecurity, Nuclear Command, Control, and Communications (NC3) systems/processes, communications systems, facility design, military aerospace development (e.g., Sentinel, Minute Man III, B-2, B-21 delivery systems).

Sr. Principal Systems Engineer:

• Bachelor's degree in STEM and 8 years of experience, or 6 years with a master’s degree, or 4 years with a PhD.
• Current Special Access Program (SAP) approval at time of hire.
• 2 years of experience with requirements management/analysis/allocations.
• 2 years of experience with Model-Based Engineering / Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBE/MBSE) practices, languages, or tools such as Cameo, Rhapsody, or MagicDRAW.
• 2 years of experience with one or more of the following: Command & Control (C2), physical security, cybersecurity, Nuclear Command, Control, and Communications (NC3) systems/processes, communications systems, facility design, military aerospace development (e.g., Sentinel, Minute Man III, B-2, B-21 delivery systems).

Preferred Qualifications

• 1 year of experience developing or reviewing requirements within DOORS or similar tool.
• Self-driven with the ability to tackle challenges, solve problems with minimal oversight, and make recommendations for solutions/process improvement to leadership.
• 1 year of experience in team environments with leadership responsibilities.
• 1 year of experience creating, updating, and maintaining system performance documentation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Pay

Primary Level Salary Range: $98,400.00 - $147,600.00

Secondary Level Salary Range: $122,800.00 - $184,200.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline. Northrop Grumman considers factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions when determining base salary offers. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions and allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.

Schedule

This position follows a 9/80 work schedule, allowing employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
