About the role

Northrop Grumman's Legislative Affairs team is seeking a Community Engagement Representative based in Minot, ND. This role reports to the Director of Legislative Affairs, State and Local Government Relations, and serves as the primary point of contact for local leaders, organizations, workforce development groups, and small businesses in designated communities.

You will lead Northrop Grumman’s community presence in planned Sentinel program workforce hub locations and surrounding areas, maintaining strong relationships with community stakeholders and coordinating with Sentinel program executives to address community engagement and workforce development issues.

Responsibilities

• Lead Northrop Grumman’s community presence in planned Sentinel program workforce hub locations and surrounding areas.
• Maintain strong relationships with community leaders, local organizations, workforce development groups, and small businesses.
• Coordinate with Sentinel program executives to stay informed about program issues and provide feedback on community engagements and workforce development.
• Synthesize complex information and communicate it clearly to diverse audiences.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gain consensus on varied views.
• Manage multiple ongoing projects simultaneously.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., public policy, economic development, communications) and a minimum of 10 years of work experience. An appropriate combination of education and experience may substitute for the degree requirement.
• Demonstrated track record of developing and implementing successful engagement plans.
• Proven ability to work effectively both individually and as part of a team, with proficiency in office software and applications.
• Ability to anticipate community concerns and make internal recommendations.
• Experience interacting with community leaders and company executives.
• Strong judgment, decision-making skills, and political acumen.

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of, and established relationships within, the designated communities.
• Experience in local economic development and/or workforce development at the state or local level.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong problem-solving and organizational abilities.
• High level of integrity and a hands-on approach to problem-solving.

Pay

Primary salary range: $111,700.00 – $167,500.00. The final offer considers factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate experience, education, skills, and current market conditions. Eligible employees may receive overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses reward individual contributions and company results. Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
