Responsibilities
- Drive creation of end-to-end experience architectures that align xDesign capabilities with clear business outcomes and measurable user value in a hybrid delivery environment.
- Define and document user journeys workflows and interaction models that translate complex business requirements into simple and intuitive digital experiences.
- Guide cross-functional teams in applying UI UX design standards so that visual layouts, interaction patterns, and content structures remain consistent across channels and platforms.
- Develop scalable design systems including reusable components, interaction guidelines, and visual tokens that support rapid and coherent product evolution.
- Conduct discovery workshops with stakeholders to clarify goals, constraints, and success metrics and convert these insights into actionable experience blueprints.
- Create wireframes, interactive prototypes, and concept mockups that communicate design intent clearly and support informed product decisions during day-time collaboration.
- Apply user-centered design techniques such as persona modeling, scenario mapping, and task analysis to ensure that every feature directly supports user needs.
- Review usability findings and analytics data then refine information architecture and interaction flows to continuously improve adoption, engagement, and satisfaction.
- Partner with engineers to ensure proposed designs are technically feasible, accessible, and performant within the target technology stack and hybrid ways of working.
- Prepare and present design rationales that explain how each design decision supports company purpose, client value, and positive societal impact.
- Ensure all designs follow inclusive design principles, accessibility standards, and ethical guidelines so that experiences remain usable for diverse communities.
- Provide mentoring and constructive feedback to designers and product team members on best practices in xDesign methods and modern UI UX design.
- Collaborate with product owners to prioritize backlogs, define minimum viable experiences, and align design milestones with release plans.
- Coordinate with research and analytics teams to define test plans, conduct experiments, and incorporate findings into iterative design updates.
- Support management activities by preparing design documentation, playbooks, and reference materials that help teams adopt the proposed experience models.
- Engage with client stakeholders in hybrid meetings to clarify expectations, manage design tradeoffs, and maintain transparency on progress and outcomes.
- Align experience architectures with organizational sustainability and social responsibility objectives by promoting digital solutions that reduce waste and improve access.
Qualifications
- Require nine to eleven years of progressive experience in experience architecture or senior UI UX design roles with proven delivery of complex digital products.
- Require advanced hands-on expertise in xDesign practices including discovery framing, experience mapping, and design system definition for enterprise environments.
- Require strong skills in creating wireframes, low and high-fidelity prototypes, and detailed UI specifications using modern design and collaboration tools.
- Require solid understanding of information architecture, interaction design, and visual hierarchy with a consistent focus on accessibility and inclusive design.
- Require experience working in hybrid models with distributed teams and comfort collaborating in real time during standard day shifts.
- Nice to have experience in guiding usability testing, synthesizing qualitative and quantitative findings, and converting insights into design enhancements.
- Nice to have exposure to agile product delivery including backlog refinement, sprint planning, and incremental release of user experience improvements.
- Nice to have experience in presenting design concepts to senior stakeholders and facilitating design reviews that lead to clear data-informed decisions.
Pay & Benefits
- The annual salary for this position is between $90,000 - $115,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
- This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
