Responsibilities

  • Maintain employee schedules that provide adequate coverage to ensure safety for both clients and employees.
  • Develop and implement systems to organize and monitor work activities.
  • Ensure that all Abraxas policies and procedures are followed.
  • Interview and select the most qualified candidate among internal applicants for posted positions.
  • Structure, implement, and facilitate new employee on-the-job orientation.
  • Write professional development plans in conjunction with employees to aid in their training and development.
  • Conduct effective supervisory conferences and performance evaluations with employees, document the content of such meetings and evaluations, and provide feedback to them.
  • Determine and implement progressive discipline when needed according to the applicable policy.
  • Respond to step 1 grievances.
  • Schedule employee training to ensure that all mandatory training requirements are met.
  • Provide ongoing effective supervision to unit employees and monitor case management activities.
  • Schedule team meetings, plan and implement agendas and activities in an effort to promote teamwork and communication within the unit.
  • Serve as the primary role model for employees by leading, directing, guiding, and supporting them in such a way that promotes their growth and development.
  • Support the Abraxas philosophy and mission and promote the Seven Key Principles of care.
  • Demonstrate appropriate use of Safe Crisis Management and provide effective supervision to staff regarding the use of SCM.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human services field and one-year experience in residential treatment is preferred OR
  • Associate’s degree or sixty (60) credit hours from an accredited college/university and three (3) years’ work experience with children.

Other Qualifications:

  • At least twenty-one (21) years of age
  • Must have a valid Driver's License
  • Physical exam that includes TB and drug testing
  • Must pass both federal and state background checks which screen for crimes including, but not limited to drug related crimes, violent crimes, sexual abuse, domestic violence, child abuse, and repeated misdemeanors
  • Satisfactory completion of background screening and applicable pre-employment checks, including but not limited to employment and/or personal reference and driving records
  • Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department

Pay

$63,000/year

Schedule

  • Full-Time
  • Monday-Friday, 2 Evening Shifts and 3 Day Shifts
  • Weekends rotate every 4-5 weeks

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and assist individuals as needed
  • Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
