About the role

Rinker Design Associates (RDA) is looking for a Senior Traffic Manager to help lead traffic design and operational analysis on innovative transportation projects across Virginia. In this role, you’ll collaborate with a talented team, contribute to impactful multimodal solutions, and play a key part in shaping the future of transportation infrastructure in a supportive, forward-thinking environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead Technical Excellence: Direct and oversee the technical development of traffic designs and operational analyses for diverse and innovative roadway and multimodal projects.
- Drive Project Success: Lead project meetings, present traffic design aspects, and provide technical expertise to ensure high-quality outcomes.
- Collaborate with Stakeholders: Engage with clients, agency representatives, contractors, and internal teams to deliver innovative traffic solutions.
- Ensure Quality and Standards: Maintain high standards for deliverables and perform quality control for team members' work.
- Support Project Management: Assist project managers in meeting schedule and budget goals while driving technical progress.
- Foster Innovation: Develop intelligent transportation systems, signal designs, interchange access reports, and signing and pavement marking plans.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering is required.
- Licensure: Registration as a P.E. in Virginia is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 12 years of experience in traffic engineering design.
- Expertise: Strong knowledge of traffic design standards and practices, including VDOT, AASHTO, FHWA, MUTCD, HCM, PROWAG, and HSM.
- Software Proficiency: Experience with design tools such as MicroStation, OpenRoads, Synchro, SIDRA and HCS is required.
- Team and Communication Skills: Demonstrated teamwork, leadership, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Pay
Compensation: $150,000 - $200,000 / year
